Flank Steak/Marinade (Kari)

1 flank steak (1.5 - 2 lbs)

1/2 C. Soy Sauce
6-8 oz. VERY dark beer (about 1/2 bottle)
2-3 cloves crushed garlic
1-2 tsp. fresh grated ginger
1 tsp. dark sesame oil (May be called sesame hot oil)
1/4-1/2 tsp. ground pepper

Score both sides of steak in a crosshatch pattern to help tenderize. Mix marinade and pour over steak. Marinate for at least 2 hours. Although I forgot once and let it sit overnight in the fridge- it was still tasty.

*Good served with garlic smashed potatoes and sauteed peppers.
